505 1st Avenue Reposition Study
Seattle, WA
Scaling down
505 First, a 288,140 SF building connected to 83 King, had an expansive lobby too large for people to feel comfortable using, leaving it underutilized and representing lost leasing potential. The design reclaimed a portion of the lobby as leasable space while reshaping the remainder to feel inviting at a human scale, rather than simply trimming the original footprint. The repositioning also explored layout options for a shared conference center, plus a restaurant, grab-and-go café, redesigned elevator lobby, and rooftop deck.
Emily served as studio lead and project manager on this project while at a previous firm, guiding a junior designer.
