Creating a new entry in the course catalog.
Washington Network for Innovative Careers (WaNIC), as a tenant of Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWIT), was expanding into a pharmacy and pharmacy technician program, requiring a classroom combining lecture space with a working mock pharmacy for hands-on training. Drawing on prior pharmacy project experience, SV advised WaNIC on what a realistic training environment requires: lab bench layout, equipment selection, and pharmacy-standard security such as cypher-lock entry doors.
The client's initial plan rotated the existing classroom 90 degrees to fit the new mock pharmacy. SV recommended a 180-degree rotation instead, preserving the room's original proportions, avoiding unnecessary lighting rework, and placing the lab at the rear for greater flexibility and less disruption to lecture space, all within the 980-square-foot footprint.
Additionally, WaNIC needed a fume hood required for the program but it priced outside their budget. Leveraging industry relationships, SV connected WaNIC with a company decommissioning working lab equipment, securing a fully functional fume hood at no cost.
