University of Denver Women’s Lacrosse Locker Room

Denver, CO

Dedicated, branded space

The University of Denver upgraded and expanded their existing women’s lacrosse facilities to provide a larger locker room space, upgrade the restrooms, and add a lounge space. The team requested the lockers divert from the DU standard honeyed oak wood used in other team facilities requesting a modern, gray wood instead. To do so, the university required mock ups of multiple lockers for approval from several key stakeholders. On the lockers, the university wanted to incorporate the DU logo and Amanda custom designed the handles for use in this locker room and future locker room designs. As with most team facilities, branding was a key component in the design. Although they are not mirrored and instead stay readable, the team wanted the school athletic logo on both the floor and ceiling. With the team equipment storage elsewhere, the use of the space allotted was able to be maximized for the team including expanding the restrooms providing a full-sized refrigerator in the lounge space.

Completed at a previous firm, Amanda assumed responsibilities during design and completed construction administration.
